The bridge marks the border between the provinces of Mayabeque and Matanzas. It is the longest and highest bridge across Cuba, with just over 314 m. long and 103 m. height. It is considered one of the wonders of Cuban civil engineering.
The construction began in 1957 and was inaugurated by Fidel Castro in 1959. Allows crossing a wooded canyon that separates the extensive and lush Yumirí valley from the sea. On one side of the bridge there is a restaurant and a gazebo where you can drink while you enjoy its spectacular views.
