Cuba's beaches are one of the main attractions that bring millions of visitors from all corners of the world to this wonderful country. In fact, some of the best beaches in Cuba are listed among the most beautiful beaches in the world!
In Cuba you will find beaches for all tastes, from paradisiacal beaches and calm waters, surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, to wild beaches and bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, which are ideal for water activities such as surfing or kitesurfing. But without a doubt, the highest acclaimed beaches are the keys, such as Cayo Santa María, Cayo Ensenachos, Cayo Las Brujas, Cayo Coco, Cayo Cruz, Cayo Guillermo, Cayo Levisa, Cayo Jutías or Cayo Largo del Sur, as well as the famous and unmistakable Varadero.
In all these places, as well as in many others in the country, you will find idyllic beaches where you can enjoy the rest you deserve. Conversely, practice your favorite water sports, since Cuba has one of the most exciting sea beds in the planet, full of coral reefs, warm and transparent waters and an incredible marine fauna.
The famous Varadero Beach is one of the most internationally renowned beaches. It is a set of beautiful white sand beaches that extends for 22 kilometers. One of the best beaches in the area is Playa Coral, which has an exciting coral reef that is accessible by swimming.
Another of the most beautiful beaches in Cuba is Playa Pilar, located in the prestigious Cayo Guillermo, one of the best keys in the area known as Jardines del Rey. This beach is surrounded by plenty of nature and has turquoise waters that are perfect for enjoying an unforgettable swim.
Playa Pilar has the character of a pristine beach, surrounded by dunes that exceed 15 meters in height, and dotted with exotic palms that provide an idyllic setting.
In the neighbouring Cayo Coco is Playa Larga, which stands out for its natural beauty and its high quality hotel facilities. In this enormous beach of blue waters you will feel like you’re in paradise.
Many visitors want to enjoy Cayo Largo, and if you wonder why, you only have to see Playa Paraiso and Playa Sirena to realize the real treasures that await. These two tropical beaches look like real natural pools and have crystal clear waters and white sands dotted with starfish.
The East coast of Cuba also has unforgettable beaches. One of the most acclaimed is Cayo Saetía, perfect for nature lovers and water sports enthusiasts. Another exotic beach on the East coast of Cuba is Guardalavaca, also located in the province of Holguín. This beach is known for being one of the first places that Christopher Columbus visited on his arrival to Cuba, who spoke the famous phrase "This is the most beautiful land that human eyes have seen".
But if you want to find a beach paradise closer to Havana we recommend Cayo Levisa, in the province of Pinar del Río. Only two and a half hours away from Havana, this beautiful beach is considered one of the most exotic destinations on the western end of Cuba.
