Centro Habana is a municipality in the north and central part of the province of Havana, between the districts of Old Havana and Vedado. The municipality is a must visit spot, because it houses some of the most relevant buildings in Havana and due to it’s a midpoint between the most tourist areas in the province.

Despite this area of Havana hasn’t received as much investment as Old Havana to be restored, it is worth to visit it, as it is full of bustling street and old buildings. Even more, it houses places like the Museo de la Revolución Museum, El Capitolio, Real Fábrica de Tabacos Partagás, National Museum of Fine Arts, Paseo Martí (Martí Promenade), or Castillo de San Salvador de La Punta Castle.

Centro Habana also has several parks that, despite being in the city center, are sheltered from the traffic and stress of the city. It is highly recommendable to visit them as we will have the chance to rest ourselves and discover more about the history of the city and the Revolution. The most recommendable parks are Central Park, housing a statue of José Martí and being the meeting point where beisbol lovers argue about the moves of their favorite teams; Fraternidad Park, full of busts of American leaders and popularly known as “el Parque Jurásico”, due to the many chances to see in here old and nice North American cars; and Lovers Park, housing a part of the historical prison where well-known people like José Martí were prisoners.

Next to Fraternidad Park you’ll find several must-visit spots, such as the El Capitolio fo Cuba or Partagás Royal Tobacco Factory; but next to it are also located other less famous places so interesting to visit: La India Fountain, Saratoga Hotel and Aldama Palace.

A little further to the north is located Central Park, surrounded by the National Museum of Fine Arts, Paseo Martí (Martí Promenade); and Leanza Lima Museum. If you head north by Martí Promenade (it is recommendable to pass by Calle Refugio Street to see the famous Museo de la Revolución Museum), you’ll find the Lovers Park, located just next to Castillo de San Salvador de la Punta Castle. If you follow all the coast to the west you’ll find Malecón of Havana. This place is quite beautiful and offers a unique atmosphere, so having a walk in here is a must.
