Playa Pilar (Pilar Beach) is located in Cayo Guillermo, one of the keys of the Cuban province, Ciego de Avila, and is one of the most beautiful beaches in Cuba and the Caribbean.
It looks like a virgin beach, surrounded by enormous dunes that reach up to 16 meters high and palms that give it an even more paradisiacal appearance. It is known for its fine and fair sand, its calm, turquoise and crystalline waters, and a sea bed with a coral barrier that gives visitors the chance to enjoy its beautiful and colorful marine fauna, just as if it were an aquarium.

Due to the transparency of its waters, Playa Pilar is perfect for snorkeling. Its diverse species of colorful fish will surprise you. Moreover, if you want to make a more professional dive, it is also a great place for scuba diving, but you must go out to sea.
Very close to Playa Pilar there is a marina where there is a dolphinarium and you can do various activities from renting a small boat to doing catamaran routes.
This is a perfect place to visit if you are in the Jardines del Rey archipelago and decide to go to the small but magnificent Cayo Guillermo. It is worth visiting even if you are not staying in Cayo Guillermo, because thanks to the Pedraplén, you will be able to access this key from Cayo Coco.
To reach Jardines del Rey you can either arrive by plane as it has an international airport or you can arrive from the main island of Cuba via the Pedraplén, a road built over the sea.
In case you are looking for accommodation near this unique beach, there are two incredible resorts nearby. The Cayo Guillermo Resort Kempinski Cuba and the Iberostar Selection Playa Pilar, both all-inclusive.
