Cocotaxis are great tricycles that work through pedals and have a back seat for two people behind the driver. The vehicle is surrounded by a spherical opened plastic cover. Some have a tiny motor that helps the diver when going up a slope, but the driver rarely stops to pedal. They are most common in La Havana.

There are some Cocotaxis that can be used only by Cubans, which are black, as opposed to the yellow ones for tourists.

Cocotaxis for tourists are paid in Convertible Pesos (CUC), at a rate of around 1 CUC. Price does vary and we recommend you to agree on one before beginning the journey, as some demand too large amounts.s.
