The Crocodile Farm of Nueva Gerona is located in the road to Cayo Piedra 12 km south to La Fe. This farm has had an important role in the conservation of the crocodiles in Cuba during these last years by taking care of the most dangerous animals in the world for more than 25 years.
The hatchery is responsible of approximately 500 crocodiles of all shapes and sizes. The carers rescue the eggs 85 days after the egg laying to protect them, so visitors can also see the crocodile babies. The most aggressive animals can only be seen through a grille, but other species can be seen from a safe distance without anything between them.
Crocodiles live there until they are 7 years old and 1 meter long, then they are released in their natural habitat.
