This lagoon is located some kilometres north of Morón, somewhere along road to Turiguanó Island. Its surface, which covers between 4 and 5 square kilometres, is surrounded by mangroves, and it houses the largest amount of perches and trouts of the island. On its depths a really varied fauna can be found: manatees, turtles, crocodiles, European eels, Cubera snappers, Cuban cichlids…
The headquarters of the International Fishing Centre can be found in La Redonda. Thus, as anyone would expect, visitors can make fishing tours of up to 8 hours, or if they prefer, they can take a boat ride in this natural lake.
In 2012, the lagoon was chosen as guide product for the reinforcement of sustainable nature tourism in the area by the working group of Sustainability Project, developed in Sabana-Camagüey Archipelago.
