The Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Church is located in the Emilio Luaces Street, in the Parque de la Juventud Park of Camagüey. The construction was carried out thanks to the economic collaboration of Tomás Pío Betancourt’s daughter, the first historian of the city between the years 1912 and 1919. It was raised on the place that the former San Francisco Church occupied before.
The architecture of this church is based in the Gothic style, the favorite one in the medieval Europe, but an authentic oddity in Cuba.
