Playa Santa Lucía (Santa Lucía Beach) is located in the village of Santa Lucía, 110 km northeast to Camagüey. It is a lonely touristic resort with a 20 km long beach that compete with Varadero for being the longest beach in the island of Cuba.
The area surrounding Playa Santa Lucía Beach is rather monotonous, it is simply plenty of flamingos, leafy bushes and any cow. The tiny village works as a lodging for employees of the big hotels.
The main attraction for tourists is, in addition to its tropical beauty, its jade green waters and golden sand, its coral reefs very easily to access few kilometers far from the island. That is the reason why it is always busy with divers, who go there in search of the beautiful views of its sea beds.
