The Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria (Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria Cathedral) or simply Catedral de Camagüey (Camagüey Cathedral) is the most important church in the religious history of Camagüey.
In the place where a chapel was raised in 1530, the church was rebuilt in the 19th century. In 1998, it was completely restored with funds raised during the visit of the pope Paul II to the city.
The cathedral bears the name of the patron saint, the Virgin of the Candelaria, and although it is not the most eye-catching religious building in Camagüey, it stands out for it having a Christ statue on top of the bell tower.
