Located in the street Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, the house of Tomás Estrada Palma is a cultural point of interest. On it was born in 1835 whom will become, as the years go by, one of the participants in the foundation of the Cuban Revolutionary Party and the first President of the Republic after the Independence Wars, in the legislation between 1902 and 1906.
Estrada’s political life has been characterized by ups and downs. One of the most important ones was the one considered as his huge ‘fall’ when he was suspicious to be accomplice of the US in the Platt Amendment.
Nowadays, the dwelling has become the UNEAC headquarters. Come to the birth house of Estrada Palma and go back to the first half of the 19th century.
