Located inside the Desembocadura del Granma National Park, specifically in the southwest side, the gorgeous cape is characterized by having a great system of marine terraces (emerged and submerged), reaching 360 meters above the sea level, with a slope of until 100 meters.
Due to the continuous commercial shipping they decided to build a 32 meters tall lighthouse opened in 1871, known as “Vargas” lighthouse.
Declared National Monument, you’ll be able to visit both the lighthouse and the house of the lighthouse-keeper. The house is made up by 15 rooms, and a terrace with gorgeous panoramic views to the sea. Despite its still working as a lighthouse, it accepts visits. From its highest point can be seen the Desembarco del Granma National Park.
Cabo Cruz is a perfect place for exploration and underwater photographies. It houses a unique natural treasure, a barrier reef more than 1,500 length, a wonderful ecotourism spot you can’t miss!
