It is an interesting point in the city of Bayamo and is part of the historical urban center.
It is the place where lived, and concretely the grille window through which she put out, the beautiful martyr Luz Vázquez when his husband, the great musician Francisco del Castillo, was waiting on the window until she leaned out to hear the composition he created with the help of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and the poet José Fornaris to forgive him.
Sung at her window on the 27th March 1851, the famous son La Bayamesa, first Cuban troubadour song, was the precursor of the national anthem later composed by Perucho Figueredo.
In the facade, beside the colonial window with the wooden bars, you can read the commemorative plaque. In 1869 it was one of the first mansions to burn during the fire; Luz Vázquez herself set it on fire, reduced mainly to ruins.
Do not stop visiting this wonderful place, witness of the beautiful love story between Luz Vázquez and Francisco del Castillo.
