The Caguanes National Park is located in the Northern region of the municipality of Yaguajay, constituted by Caguanes Cay, the Ciénaga Swamp, Guayaberas and the islets compound called Piedra Cays. It is the perfect place for the ecotourism or adventure tourism lovers. It was declared Biosphere Reservation by the UNESO.
In order to enjoy numerous aquatic activities in this idyllic place with clear turquoise waters, the best destination is Santa María Cay.
In the Caguanes National Park there are also other ecosystems such as the Manglares or the Ciénaga de la Guayabera Swamp. The first one is the refuge of countless land and marine fauna species. The second one is an ecosystem located in the center of the Southern limit of the park and is divided by an ecosystem of grassland and another one of bad drainage forest.
Another of the main attractions of the park are the Caguanes Park Caves, made by a great cave system of around 11 km of underground galleries, which preserve the historical legacy of the primitive people who moved around the area and you can see cave paintings.
