The Casa Natal de Serafín Sánchez Valdivia Birth House Museum is a quite distinct renowned house in the village of Sancti Spíritus because it is painted in blue and white and because of its colonial style from between 1825 and 1830. Currently, the museum is located in a one-story building and was inaugurated on 2nd November 1990.
This museum holds 7 permanent exhibition rooms and a transitory exhibition. Its collection accumulates precious belongings of the Sánchez Valdivia family and other patriots of the Independence Wars. It has also a documentation centre which contains valuable texts about the history of Cuba. The museum has received great personalities from the art and politics fields from the island, as well as a great deal of visitors that increases by the day.
