The Museo de Música Alejandro García Caturla (Alejandro García Caturla Music Museum), located in Plaza Martí Square of Remedios, is dedicated to the memory of Alejandro García Caturla (1906-1940), one of the best exponents of Cuban contemporary music and one of its most celebrated and recognized composers in the nation. The place is located on an ancient house made of stonework, planks and mud.
It was opened in 1975 with historical documents, musical instruments, art, publications, scores and photograph collections. Later, in 2007, it was opened again with a new museological and museographic assembly with giant posters and various colors. It is divided into three rooms, five permanent exhibitions and a temporary one.
