Lago Hanabanilla (Hanabanilla Lake) is ideal for nature lovers. Located in the municipality of Manicaragua, in the province of Villa Clara, it fuels the turbines of the largest hydroelectric power plant of Cuba.
It begins in Macizo de Guamuhaya Massif and extends to the southeast of Cienfuegos and Trinidad. It is 192 square kilometers in size and approximately 30 or 40 meters deep. It is located 364 meters above sea level.
Fishing or hiking are only some of the amusement and leisure activities you can do here. El Nicho path, a riverside walk by the Río Negro (The Black River) or a visit to Cascada del Amor (Waterfall of Love) allow us to appreciate the area’s astounding beauty. The Hotel Hanabanilla, located on the lakeside, offers accommodation facilities.
