Cayo Conuco is only 7 kilometers from the city of Caibarién, to the north of Villa Clara. It is the closest to the island of Cuba of all the Cayerías del Norte. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature in the style of the Cubans.
The company Campismo Popular Villa Clara has chosen Cayo Conuco as one of the best natural places to settle. It offers 21 rustic wooden cabins simply decorated and equipped, matching perfectly the atmosphere that surrounds this cozy enclave. There is also a bar, a restaurant specialized in Creole food and recreation and entertainment areas available for visitors.
Despite the fact that this area has historically been exploited for its resources, there is currently a “Proyecto de Recuperación de las áreas Degradadas de Cayo Conuco” or "Project for the Recovery of the Degraded Areas of Cayo Conuco", which attempts to reintroduce some of the missing native fauna and flora. Various activities can be done here; enjoy the beach, hiking among its leafy paths or even fishing. Undoubtedly, this is a place where there are more locals than foreigners, which makes it special and interesting from a cultural point of view.
