The Provincial Palace and José Martí Provincial Library is one of the most beautiful buildings of Santa Clara. It is quite easy to access and is located in the eastern part of Vidal Park.
Construction ended in 1912, and the Provincial Government headquarters was opened. Around the same time, the building started developing a small library, which shortly after was opened to the public and named Martí Library.
It started to take up more and more space and one century later celebrated its centenary and has been through several remodelings, it now being one of the oldest libraries, as well as the historical, artistic and literary center of Santa Clara.
