Located in the Loma del Intendente Hill, in the Tívoli, the Clandestine Fight Museum (Museo de la Lucha Clandestina) was a police station attacked by the activists 26th July Movement in 1956 to distract the attention of the authorities during the Landing in Granma.
The building was on its beginning a dwelling built at the beginning of the 19th century in a Prebaroque style and inhabited by different families between 1865 and 1935. Once in the decade of 1940, the building was used as High School, becoming a police station in 1951. After the assault, the whole wooden structure was burned remaining just the masonry walls, among which the museum was set up.
Among the two roofs of the museum, are spread the four permanent exhibition rooms in which objects related to the Revolution and the role of Santiago the Cuba on it are exhibited. It is specially shown the roles Frank País and Celia Sánchez in the revolutionary fight.
Discover the history of the Revolution in this fascinating museum through the documents, pictures and other objects used by the main protagonists of the 26th July Movement.
