Opened in 1926, the Provincial Government Palace shows an eclectic style and has been the headquarters of the provincial government from its beginnings.
Located in front of the Emilio Bacardí Museum, various Renaissance elements are evident. The symmetry of its floors, the shape and location on its windows with frames with the shape of triangular little pediments and the stone rails and the roof are good examples of the Renaissance.
The facade, furthermore, exhibits a classic composition based on Corinthian columns with striped shafts. The oculi remind of the rose windows of the Romanesque and the Gothic.
On the inside, a marble staircase is guarded by two bronze sculptures with lamps. The vestibule surprises because of its huge dimensions and the mirrors room, its elegance and majesty.
