The Nuestra Señora del Cobre Basilica is one of the most worshiped religious places in Cuba. Masses are said Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8:00am and Mondays through Fridays at 10:15am. Sundays at 8:00am and 10:00am.
In a small chapel located on one of the sides of the basilica is the Virgen de la Caridad, also known as Cachita. Its access is from one of the two staircases located in both sides of the entrance.
It is interesting to notice the small size of the statue, and the coat of arms embroidered in the cloak of the virgin. They say it was found floating at the sea of the east bay of Nipe in 1612 by two indian brothers and a black slave child that were looking for salt.
In the information center in the Miracles Room, where can be seen a great variety of oblations.
