The Museo Casa del Chocolate (Chocolate House Museum), located between Amargura and Mercaderes Street in Old Havana, takes you on a tour through the history of cocoa, its cultivation, production, and commercialization. It hosts interesting texts about the history of chocolate, different posters from various times and well-known industries, as well as foreign and national chocolate companies.
From the outside, you can already guess the intense and tasty aroma that the museum gives off. If you come closer, you will not be able to avoid going inside to taste such a delicacy. With tables set up for small groups or couples, it is an ideal place to sweeten the palate at the hottest times of the day.
This museum also houses a permanent exhibition of porcelain chocolatier cups from countries like Germany, France, Great Britain and Italy, Bakelite molds, and a container full of jams donated by the Plaza Real de Bruselas Museum. It also contains ceramic chocolate pots, pans, and English ceramic bowls found on archeological excavation sites in the city center.
