The Museo de Pintura Mural (Mural Painting Museum) is located in an historical building considered to be the oldest house in Havana, in the shadowy Calle Obispo Street, in the city center.
This museum gathers, explains and promotes the knowledge about the many pictorial riches found in the walls and facades of various constructions in Old Havana. It houses many recent pieces others made throughout various artistic periods in the city.
The foundation is located in the upper and lower floors of the house, including the hallway, the gallery and the patio. The museum has several panels with historical information.
At the entrance of the museum you’ll find two glass cabinets with fragments of murals from the Condes de San Esteban de Cañongo Palace and the Casa de Don Mariano Carbó House, hall to the upper floor, where a great collection of mural samples can be found.
In addition, the museum has cultural programs that address topics such as architecture, history and the conservation and restoration of patrimonial objects and art.
