The Palace of the Marquises of Aguas Claras is located on the west side of the Plaza de la Catedral. Completed in 1760, it is notable for the great beauty of its sombre Andalusian patio, where the green tones of the abundant tropical vegetation stand out, and inside which there is a fountain inhabited by several turtles.
This baroque-style palace was the headquarters of the Banco Industrial before the Cuban Revolution, and currently houses the Restaurante El Patio, which specializes in Cuban food and incredible cocktails. While in what was the old house of Baños, dated from the 19th century and located in the western end of the square, turned today into a craft shop, you can acquire some souvenirs of your stay in Old Havana.
