The Museo de Arte Colonial (Museum of Colonial Art) is located in the oldest building in Old Havana, the Palacio de los Condes de Casa Bayona (Palace of the Counts of House Bayona), a mansion built in 1720 by the governor of Cuba Don Luis Chacón. It boasts an enviable location, in front of Havana's San Cristóbal Cathedral. The Palace of the Counts of House Bayona presents one of the most characteristic facades of the Cuban colonial history due to its proportions and harmony, in addition it emphasizes his beautiful patio of classic style and the coffered ceiling of precious wood.
This small museum displays an exhibition of colonial furniture and decorative art, among which some porcelain pieces with scenes of the colonial Cuba stand out, as well as diverse decorations of dining rooms of the colonial epoch and a fantastic collection of ornamental flowers. Also noteworthy is the garage, which safeguards transport elements related to Cuba's colonial history. Among them, stands out a luxury "quitrín", a carriage pulled by horses, characteristic of the Caribbean history during the 19th century.
The museum has a total of 4 exhibition rooms: three permanent and one temporary, which usually hosts exhibitions related to the theme of the museum
